University of New South Wales or UNSW, is NSW’s leading university and was founded in 1949. The main campus is located across Kensington and Randwick, with the creative arts faculty located in Paddington. QS University Rankings placed UNSW 45th globally in 2016, making it the no. 3 university in Australia.  

UNSW prides themselves on being an all-inclusive, globally aware university. Out of the 50,000 students 1 in 5 students at the school come from an international background.

Semester 1 International Enrolment Deadline: Mar 4th 2018

Semester 1 Dates: Feb 26th – Jun 25th 

Semester 2 International Enrolment Deadline: Jul 29th 2018

Semester 2 Dates: Jul 23rd – Nov 20th 

Transport

Car, there is metered parking across UNSW campus, or students can park in neighbouring suburbs where they can find spaces free of meters and within walking distance from class. 

Bus, this is the most popular form of transport and there are a range of buses leaving from Central Station, Circular Quay, Bondi Junction and East Gardens.

Train, there is no train station that services the UNSW main campus, students on the train lines should instead take a train to Bondi Junction or Central and take one of the relevant buses. 

Light Rail, the CBD and South East Light Rail is expected to commence operations in 2019 and will provide a quick and easy transport option directly to the main entrance of UNSW on Anzac Parade. 

Campus Life

UNSW offers a wide range of campus entertainment and student services to help you find a good balance between your studies 

New students should download Uni-Verse – UNSW’s official app, which provides information about events, campus maps, timetables and course content. The app is available on both Android and Apple and can be downloaded here

UNSW’s bar ‘Roundhouse’ is well known for its live music, pop-up cinema and themed parties. Whilst under some minor renovations the ‘Roundhouse’ has relocated to the ‘Greenhouse’, a temporary space on campus until 2018. You can check out what’s going on at the ‘Roundhouse/Greenhouse’ on their website, (make sure you don’t miss the annual toga party!).
