Claire's Adventures in Job Hunting

Claire is a native Dubliner that has been in Sydney, and Australia for that matter, for just 5 months. Unsure of what she wants to go back to university for in Ireland, this 21 year old thought it was just a good time to experience life down under. I recently set up a time so that I could learn a bit more about her adventures here as a foreigner. It was particularly interesting to hear about her work endeavours. Claire has found it anything but easy to find a job in this bustling city.

Snorkelling at Shelly Beach

Sydney is famous for its beautiful Skylines and gorgeous Harbour views, but the city also has a very exciting underwater world to explore. There are several hotspots for you to catch sight of some of the colorful underwater scenery. Our personal choice is the sheltered Shelly Beach located in Manly, in the Nothern beaches of Sydney.  This snorkelling hotspot is filled with a vast array of unique marine life. Swim through the waters and catch a glimpse of rainbow Sea Dragons, frightening looking Pot Jackson Sharks, bright Blue Gropers and even some Nudibranchs. On special occasions you can spot some little Penguins strolling along the beachside. Shelly Beach is an ideal spot for underwater fanatics because of its clear and shallow waters. It’s also the perfect place for sun seekers with it’s soothing white sand with numerous palm-trees around.
